The following lessons and exercises that will walk you through some of the intermediate levels to help you learn Graphic Design. They are aimed specifically at some of the tricks and useful techniques that are applied when designing web and print media.

Removing Love Handles (Spare Tires)

In this tutorial we will see how to remove love handles (or the extra fat around the waist).

1. Open the image that you want to remove the excess fat around the waist.

2. Now with the Pen tool, draw a round curve shape so that the extra fat part in hided behind the shape. See picture below:

3. Now that the extra fat part is gone but still you will find that it doesnt look very realistic. To make it look more real we would use Smudge tool. With the image layer selected, drag/pull from the extra fat part which is behind the shape which we have drawn towards the right.

4. Try doing the same step until you get something like this or until you find the result satisfied.
