Longer Nails

Summary:
You might come across the scenerio that you are working on a photograph for a project where the woman's nails are short, but you would like them to be longer. This tutorial shows how to do that. It's also useful if you want to see how your own nails would look if they were longer.

Step-By-Step Instructions:
1. Open an image of the hands that you want to make the finger nails longer.

2. Select your Pen Tool and draw the shape as show in the picture. It dosent need to very similar but little close to it, so that we will get the proper nail shape.

3. Once you have created the shape, click on the layer “Shape 1” keeping CTRL button pressed. This way you select the outline, then you cancel the layer “Shape 1”. And select the image layer.

4. Now that we get the outline of the longer part of the nail, we need to fill it. To do so and to get the realistic look we will use Clone Stamp Tool. Now with this tool Set the sampling point by positioning the pointer on the nail as shown in the image and Alt-clicking (Windows) or Option-clicking (Mac OS) you pointer would change to this one when you press Alt.

5. Now drag over the inner area of the outline we have. Repate the same process untill you have fill the whole area properly. Remember we can always zoom-in and zoom-out(Ctrl + and Ctrl -) to get the closer look.

6. When you have finish with it, press Ctrl+D to deselect. Now that you will see it is not very perfect and doesnt look realistic and looks very odd. To make it little more better we will use the Blur Tool.

7. Set the blur tool size by simply pressing these keys on keyboard [ or ] to your convience. Now click and spread over the area which is little odd, you will find things getting little better. keep doing it till you find it perfect.

8. Now repeate the same steps for the rest of the nails.
