Photoshop Tutorial

In this tutorial we will learn how to make a fruit basket.Summary:
Creating a ghost in a photograph is a great special effect technique that can be used in your graphic design. It's also a very simple technique that involves some very basic edits. In this tutorial, we'll walk through the process of creating a ghost in a photograph.

Step-By-Step Instructions:
1. Open a photograph of the person that you want to be a ghost. In this case, we will use a young girl.

2. Using the Polygonal Selection tool, draw a selection around the person. Press Ctrl+C to copy the girl from the photo.

3. Open a background photograph of a scene that looks creepy or erie. Black and white photos work the best.

4. With the background photo active, click Ctrl+V to paste the person into the photo. Click Ctrl+T to enter Free Transform mode. Use the shape handles to resize the person to the size you want.

5. Select the Polygonal Lasso tool. Zoom in and begin drawing points around the person to get as close to the edge of the person as possible.

6. Goto Select > Inverse. Click the Delete key to get rid of any of the old background around the person from the other photograph.
7. Goto Image > Adjustments > Hue/Saturation. Adjust the Saturation slider to the left so that the person (girl) blends with the new background photo.

Goto Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur. Set the amount to 4 pixels. Click OK.

8. Goto Layer > Duplicate Layer. Click OK. This creates an identical layer of the person (girl).
9. Make sure duplicate layer is active.

10. Lower the opacity of the duplicate layer to 50%.

11. Right click the original layer with the person (girl). Choose "Blending Options" from the pop-up list.
12. Click "Outer Glow" and apply the following properties:

13. Goto Layer > Flatten Image. The Layers Palette will show everythign incorporated into one layer.

14. Goto Image > Adjustments > Brightness/Contrast. Adjust the sliders to get the level brightness that you desire.

15. Finally, goto Image > Adjustments > Color Balance. Adjust the sliders to get a brownish tint to the photo, so that the photo looks old and authentic.

16. You're done! You should now have created your ghostly image.
